What is DTF Printing? The Next Evolution in Apparel Customization

What is DTF Printing?
DTF (Direct to Film) printing is a process where designs are printed onto a specialized film, then transferred onto garments using heat and adhesive powder. Unlike Direct to Garment (DTG) printing, DTF is highly versatile—it prints beautifully on cotton, polyester, blends, and even leather.
How It Works:
- Design Creation using software like Photoshop or Illustrator
- Print on Film using pigment ink on PET film
- Apply Adhesive Powder while ink is wet
- Heat Cure the film using heat press or oven
- Transfer to garment via heat press
Why DTF is Taking Over the Custom Print Industry
- Works on More Fabrics: Cotton, polyester, nylon, spandex, and blends
- Vivid Colors and Durability: Sharp images, rich colors, wash-resistant
- No Pre-Treatment Needed: Saves time compared to DTG
- Lower Production Costs: Minimal waste, no weeding or cutting
